They are probably one of the most perfect couples I know. They are both teachers, come from wonderful families and are just genuinely fantastic people. The ceremony was perfect, so heartfelt and meaningful. It was outside on the grounds at the St Boniface Golf club. All week it had called for rain and thundershowers today but this afternoon it was partly cloudy and a perfect temperature. Funny enough while they were in the middle of their vows about 6 white butterflies starting fluttering about all the guests. It was so movie-esque. And yes, I cried. I really couldn't help myself, Marj started crying half down the isle and I lost it. But happy tears... Very happy tears :)
Let me give you a bit of background here...Marj and I met what feels like a million years ago. I actually hired Marj back at American Eagle. Back then we had such a good staff, many of them were there tonight. Seema, Shauna, Vanessa, Dutka, Cetaidel, Randall and Adam... Such good kids. I call them kids now and I always will because even though they are all very successful in their chosen professions I'll always think of them as high school/university students. We all came together at a perfect time. We were all in a finding-out-who-we-are-mode so we all grew together. One thing we all had in common was our love of food. It didn't matter if it was a bag of chips or a full on dinner we were always up for sharing. From there we all just grew up. Its funny, even if we don't see each for months, sometimes years it seems like we just saw each other the day before and we just pick where we left off.
Its amazing to see them all now. They have all grown up so well and I'm so proud of each and everyone of them. They are the people that I know I will have in my life for a long time and Im honored to have them as friends. They are also gonna be the best aunties and uncles... A lot of them found out about baby today :)
I know baby can already feel the love from them. Seema just HAD to have a picture of her kissing my bump. I love that girl. Sweet as ever.
Oh and the red velvet cake you ask? Well that was Marj and Scott's wedding cake! SO good! I knew Marj would have good dessert, it just wouldn't be Marj's wedding if there wasn't good food, friends and dessert :)
Congrats Marj and Scott!
Have a fantastic time in Europe and we'll do a Carlos and Murphys run when you get back. Much love to you both!
